Azzi still has a year left of eligibility due to her injury so I don’t know if it’s a given she will apply. And oiif she applies, depending on next season, and assuming she has an Azzi-type year, she’d go first round.
Based on past history, the expansion team gets the 1st pick outside the lottery so maybe the 4th pick. But before that there is an expansion draft. In the past, the other teams were allowed to protect 6 players and the expansion team could take a max of 2 players from each team.
Mystics have 2 1sts. If they get the 1st pick plus Atlanta's pick, that can be Paige, maybe Citron and Azi in the 2nd. That is a solid foundation.
Pg- Paige, Vanloo
Sg-Atkins, Azi
Sf- Karlie, Citron
Pf- Edwards, maybe an Ejim
C-Shakira, Dolson
Trade Sykes

No mention of Cloud going to the Mercury and the impact she has had.... Leading the league in assists.
You're right, she's been a valuable addition as well
Hahahahaaaa Saying Indiana is “pushing for better lottery odds” - that aged well!
I also fail to see how Paige is any more of a game changer than Caitlin, outside of this author’s apparently personal biases
How does the expansion team fit in? How many players are protected by each team? And how does Golden State fit into the WNBA draft order?

The Mystics are tanking masterfully. But yes, probably so masterfully that Paige alone won't do much.
