The Roundup
At halftime of the Oregon vs. UConn game on ESPN2, the NCAA Selection Committee revealed its top 16 teams.
Since the reveal, UConn, Louisville, Arizona, Stanford, Gonzaga, Louisville (again), and Oregon State have all lost. These results would surely change how the committee views these teams, so I decided I would try and predict how the selection committee would rank them now.
Oregon (+1)
UConn (+1)
NC State (+2)
Stanford
Maryland (+1)
Mississippi State (+2)
Louisville (-6)
Oregon State (-1)
Arizona (+1)
DePaul (+1)
Gonzaga (-2)
The top three teams are a gimme because they have backed up their ranking in the week since the reveal. UConn rises after Louisville’s pair of losses, and NC State is bumped up two spots for simply not losing. Mississippi State moved up to No. 8 after beating Texas A&M 69-57, finally getting a strong win on their resume they needed to prove they belong in the top 10.
