It's a risk because of health, but Dallas still has 2 first round picks in 2024 and the higher of Chicago and thier pick for 2025, so they have plenty of first round picks. 2025 is two years away so who knows for sure how deep the talent will be. From what I see on film, I liked Horston, but obviously teams passed on her for a reason, maybe the interview with the player or coaches or teammates. Seattle picked her without interviewing her. I love Haley Jones as a college player, I don't see her being a good player at the pro level. In the pros you have to shoot. Her decision making is excellent at the college level, but in the pros, most of the starters have learned good decision making, so it is less of an advantage. Even if you think Soares trade was bad, there were several more pics so you have to give a grade reflective of the whole draft. ESPN has a whole lot more analytics and budget than we do, they rated Soares with a score of 96, that is the 3rd highest of any player. Jordan Horston is inconsistent and overrated - should have been a 2nd rounder in the draft and although she will make the Storm roster, she will have limited minutes throughout unless injuries open up more playing time.
