They need to develop Muhl or trade her. Also draft the best shooter they can. Maybe a Fudd, Citron, Emily Ryan or Flipkens falls to them. If Gabby walks, maybe trade a 2nd for either Katie Lou from Indiana, Senechal from Dallas or outright sign a Izzy Harrison from the Sky or get creative. Move Magbegor to pf and sign Taniya Jackson outright or sign Li Yueru( and probably trade a 2nd or 3rd to LA). They can also sign a Monica Billings.

They need a big and bench depth especially in regards to shooters.

Good summary. Two quick reactions:

- Agree that Coach Quinn bears some responsibility for Loyd's shooting woes, ranging from the types of three pointers she's taking to the sets. It also may be a hangover from the post-Stewie, "who's left" year when it was Loyd or bust. Bad habits and all that....

- Regarding DeWanna Bonner being a "bad" team. Assume you meant "bad outside-shooting team" in her case? (Although that's not the case any more post-Mabrey arrival)

No, it's the third season in league history by any player to reach those thresholds (for anyone who played more than five games). Bonner did it in 2019 in Phoenix when offensively they had her and Griner and not a lot else; Nurse did it in 2020 with New York when they were super-young and had nobody. Basically the point was just that when you're shooting that poorly from outside you don't usually get to keep taking that many.

Thanks. With all due respect (to both of us), I wasn't sure what seasons you were referencing, particularly given that Nurse played on a pretty poor team this year, too!

I'm an ND alum/fan so I've followed Jewel for a lot of years. Interestingly, save for one year, her shooting has started going downhill under Quinn and when her attempts went up to "volume" levels.

Yeah, I was trying to not go off *too* far on that tangent :).

I don't know quite what to think on Loyd. She's never been the most efficient shooter in the world, but the three-point shooting just fell off a cliff this year. Maybe last year's "just take every shot you want, we don't care" season really had lasting effects, but she even shot 36% from three that year. She's still getting to the line at a high rate, and whenever she's actually set and square to the hoop before shooting it feels like the ball's going in. It doesn't feel like a lost cause to me that she's just ageing and this is her now. But if Nneka walks and is replaced by someone who's less of a threat, Loyd and SDS will probably shoot *a lot* next season. That's not going to help, unless they make active efforts to change the kind of shots Loyd's taking.
