I still don't understand why NY thinks a 4th point guard option is more important than a 4th post player -- especially when your 3rd big is injury prone Nyara Sabally. Even when she's not actually injured, every time Nyara falls down, she gets up limping or shaking her hand in pain. I know management would point to Fiebich (long), Thornton (strong), and Burke (a little of both) as pseudo-post players, but there are times when you need to slow down an opponent who is all of those things -- tall, strong, and good. Ersatz post players can't match-up. They've already seen what it's like when Sabally was out for a month. Somehow, they didn't learn their lesson. The fact that the Liberty survived is like saying Russian roulette isn't dangerous because I pulled the trigger a couple of times and didn't die.

It's a fair point. When I was looking for fake trades for them it was certainly to add an extra big, not another guard. It feels like Sherrod's been there because they liked her in camp, rather than because there is ever any intention of playing her, or that she fills a need. But if they went out and got, say, Natalie Achonwa for that spare roster spot, would she ever play? They seem to like going small with either Burke or Thornton as the 4 when they need a fallback option (and in fairness, it's largely worked).

But I tend to agree - unless she's an incredible teammate or practice player, an insurance big seems like they'd make more sense in that 12th spot than Sherrod.

No doubt the player would be more of an insurance policy than someone likely to get minutes. Still, as much as I like Nyara's talent, she scares the crap out of me every time she falls down. Injured at Oregon. Injured in NY. Injured at the Olympic Qualifier. Injured at the Olympics. She definitely requires insurance.

Achonwa seems to have lost her mojo. Off the top of my head, I'd prefer Kayla Alexander or Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu.

Yeah, I was just throwing out a random available big. A vet like Achonwa or Alexander would probably make more sense than a youngster like DFM if they want Sandy to be willing to use her.

I wish they sign Taiyanna Jackson. She is like a baby Jonquel w/o the 3 pt shot. She is this year's Tina Charles where I don't understand why every contending team( NY, LV, Phoenix, Seattle, Minny) aren't at least exploring the option.

I guess it doesn't sound like Gabby Thomas is the extra "oomph" the Storm need to be able to compete with the Aces of the league. The Storm seem like a playoff team but not a championship contender.
