Searching for the positive is good, but Dangerfield is 3-for-14 from three in her last five games, and has 10 assists to nine turnovers.
Obviously, she needs to score for Dallas to do well, but she's simply not that good a shooter. And as a tiny guard, it is much easier to control her in a playoff setting, as scouting and preparation make it much easier to keep a limited player from beating you. (There's just not enough time or motivation to do so in the regular season.)
Now if Dangerfield strings together a month of her best basketball, good things could happen. But history suggests -- rather strongly -- that she's a second-division starter.
I like Arike, she's a scorer. but she takes shots away from other players like Crystal. Arike loves to go 1 on 1 (or 2 or 3), and takes up many seconds on the shot clock. At UConn she was primarily a distributor, but scored when the team needed it. In her ROY season at Minnesita, she upper her scoring because the team needed it. Crystal is reliable.
