I like Burton too so I looked up her stats. She's just a very poor shooter, which means her defender can help on the others. You have to have a minimum of offensive production, and after two years, Burton doesn't appear to have cleared that bar.

Have to disagree with Josh. For Dallas to improve, they need a point guard who can play both ends of the floor. Tiny guards must be exceptional to survive in postseason, and though Dangerfield can be good, she is not exceptional.

Dallas needs a quality point guard to challenge for the title, and I'm not exactly sure who that might be.

Dallas has a point guard that plays both ends of the floor, LT just doesn’t play her as she should. Veronica Burton is the answer. She’s a relentless defender for all 94 feet, high IQ, and led the league in assist-to-turnover ratio, which is perfect next to 4 offensive threats in Arike, Satou, Natasha, and Big T.

I liked Latricia Trammell up until the playoffs when she royally screwed her team - the Wings would not have qualified for the playoffs without Crystal Dangerfield. And then the coach did not start her in Game 2 and played her just 2 minutes in Game 3. The team went scoreless the last 5 minutes - you would think the former ROY would have helped. (I understand her small stature may be a defensive detriment but why not have played CD on Plum instead of Gray?) Why have Crystal on the team in 2024 if you feel Sims and Burton are better? I think Crystal gets cut or traded. And Lou Lopez-Senechal will also likely get cut. They have two number 1 picks - they will make the team and take roster spots.
